Blog
My blog includes everything my group and I have done throughout the making of our film Noir opening.
This week we took recorded the femme fatale talking to the doomed hero. We edited some more on final cut pro and added a soundtrack, background and some special effects to our film. We uploaded the voice over taken on Prabhleen's phone to give the film more flow to tell the audience what's going on.

This week my group and I had added music and photos to our final cut pro edit as well as taking some more location shots ready to add to our websites. I attached music and the titles to the film opening. We edited a lot and analysed the film we had edited making sure it flowed really well. Prabhleen and Jakub had re filmed the lift scene whilst I helped Tim catch up on his coursework.
This week we filmed Tim's character "Robert" walking in the rain. We had to re shoot this scene because the rain kept stoping and starting. We decided to shoot this part because rain is very nourish. Also it would give a nice touch to the opening scene. We found a sound track to include in our production and are going to include it in our production after. We managed to grab hold of an institution logo introduction and have already edited it into our scene. We are going to take out the sound from some clips and insert the sound track to replace it. We will then hopefully insert our chosen background to replace the green screen.
This week we had filmed a new part to our opening scene. We had filmed Jakub entering the lift and walking down the hallway.
We had to re shoot this scene a couple of times before it came out right. I learnt how to use certain tools on final cut pro such as the cutting tool,in, out, and colour filter. I found a good bar background to be used in the film which will be placed instead of the green screen. Also I uploaded some more images and gave them labels.
At the end of this week, my group and I had drawn an out line of the victim Ann Steel for the next part of the film opening. We had drawn them on the floor outside 3 times and tried to work out which place was the best place to film. We took photos of the behind the scenes of how we drew everything out. Today we had re filmed the bar scene and had taken photos of the behind the scenes, we then uploaded the clip onto the computer and are going to start editing by Monday
Today I added the character profile for "Robert" (the main character in the film). I included a photograph of the character and added some information about "Robert" next to it.
I took more photos of the doomed hero and uploaded the photo of the props. I wrote which props we would be using and why we are going to use them in the production. My group and I then went outside and re filmed some more parts for the opening scene and then filmed a new part for the scene. Whilst Tim was getting into costume, Prabhleen and I started to set up the green room for the inside of the bar . We did this by taking a high table and some glasses to make it look more realistic. We then took some photos of the location of where we would be filming. I still need to upload the photos for that. Before all the filming began, I was helping Jakub with the production sheet whilst Prabhleen and Tim were writing up the script. Once the script had been completed Tim then went on to find the soundtrack for the film.
This week on Monday, I learnt how to use final cut pro. I learnt how to cut a clip and move clips around. I also learnt how to upload the video onto the computer and then on to the editing programme to put together my noir film.I learnt 6 camera shots that I could include in my film production; establishing shot, close up shot, cutaway shot, high angle shot, low angle shot and the dutch angle shot<must include. I also learnt how to work the camera. I learnt how to play back on the camera and how to video like a proper camera person ("3,2,1,action").I took the first 3 takes to begin the opening scene for the film production which took twice before it turned out well. I updated my website by adding my mise-en-scene analysis section. |
